The Bode LeanLab Approach

Each lab has a “waste lab” that consumes a lab’s resources that do not add value. Utilizing the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process, we work through a project team of scientists in the concepts of Lean Six Sigma process improvement facilitated through the DMAIC process. 

Define: Assess lab processes, set project goals and define processes that need to be improved while working with team members

Measure: Establish performance baseline and develop project map

Analyze: Design the improved process

Improve: Implement the plan through a series of onsite meetings

Control: Implement control plans for sustainability and accountability

Certification

In addition to providing Lean Six Sigma LeanLab implementation, Bode LeanLab will provide lab staff with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification program.  Bode Cellmark will provide both on-site and web-based classrooms to allow the Green Belt project members and non-members to review classroom and supplemental materials.  The Green Belt Certification Process has specific components associated with it that meet national standards. 

The certification process is based on three parts: 

  1. Successful completion of the project(s) and report out
  2. Successful completion of the written exam
  3. Successful completion of the verbal exam

Project Completion

After implementation of goals from the initial assessment, Bode Cellmark will provide follow-up assessments and final reporting. Post-project assessment will be conducted to assure that the Lean Six Sigma LeanLab process has been implemented, evaluate new efficiency and to identify further opportunities for improvement. During the follow-up assessments, Bode Cellmark will also complete the certification process.
